Over time I have bought a variety of footballs all of a different brand. I have found out that the best brand of ball that I've used is a Wilson ball. If you prefer a different type of ball aim for the higher prices. Lower priced balls usually have one layer of tiles then the inner coating of the ball meaning that they don't last along time. Higher priced balls have two layers of tiles and in between them both is a type insulator. I've also found out that the most popular sized ball, size five, usually only has the insulator. This may not be true but I've never seen a sized four and down ball with this added feature. So in conclusion buy higher priced sized five footballs. And if you want to follow my advise buy a Wilson ball.

In years gone by, the football was constructed using a pig or sheep bladder encased in thick stitched leather. This made the ball very heavy, and often an aerial challenge involving a speeding ball and ones own head would culminate in a mild concussion and the seeing of stars.
The modern ball however, is constructed using light man made materials which has changed the game significantly, balls fly faster and farther when they are struck and it is now possible to put more bend and swerve on the ball, this means a faster game, more goals and a more entertaining game for the fans.
