Roy Keane's reign over Sunderland has ended when he simply walked away from his post. Sunderland were third from the bottom with five losses in six games. Sunderland hesitantly accepted Keane's decision. After the previous manager, Niall Quinn, had a horrible start to the season Keane took charge only to be regarded as a quitter.

Roy Keane had a wonderful playing career and captained Manchester United for many years. But being a great player doesn't necessarily mean one will be a great manager.
Perhaps if he had started management with a team further down the divisions and worked his way up he may have had more success.
